2024:S8 The Art of Negotiation
Ending the year with Session 8, “The Art of Negotiation,” aimed to deepen scholars' understanding of negotiation fundamentals, focusing on practical skills like positive body language, relationship-building, and strategic planning. Scholars engaged in interactive activities, including workshops on body language by Chris Ulrich of CU In the Moment and a panels with seasoned negotiators, to handle crucial conversations in scenarios ranging from construction administration to government affairs. One presentation given in this session discussed the importance of trust in negotiation. The session covered the principles of negotiation, practical tools for creating win-win solutions.
To circle back to Session 1, the scholars completed another Life Styles inventory to assess how participating in the CKLDP program over the past 9 months has shaped their leadership styles.
